3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane: Guide

3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane is a commonly used method of immobilizing biomolecules on silicon and silicon derivatives, such as silicon nitride (Si3N4). It is an excellent treatment agent for glass fibers and improves the mechanical strength, electrical properties and aging resistance of composites.
In the production of glass fiber wool and mineral wool, it is added to phenolic resin binder to improve moisture resistance and increase compression resilience.
3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane can be applied to mineral-filled phenolic, polyester, epoxy, PBT, polyamide, carbonate and other thermoplastic and thermosetting resins, which can greatly improve and enhance the physical and mechanical properties of the plastics such as dry and wet flexural strength, compressive strength, shear strength, and the electrical properties of the wet state, and to improve the wettability and dispersion of fillers in the polymer. It also improves the wettability and dispersion of the filler in the polymer.
