Silicone Resin: Guide

Silicone resins are extremely versatile and safe products with excellent electrical insulation, ultraviolet (UV) protection, water resistance and heat resistance properties. They are used in a wide range of industries as adhesives, sealants, insulators or weathering additives.

Silicone resins are a safe product. Even under extreme overheating conditions, the resins will not burn, discolor or emit harmful fumes. However, these silicone resins require the addition of a catalyst when used, so a degree of care is required when mixing the product. Some products are also flammable before curing; raw materials should be kept away from sources of ignition, direct sunlight and chemical sources.
